COLD IS THE WINTER WITHOUT YOU

Winter Geese
Thawing Winter's Embrace Together

Frigid waters,

Bare trees,

Gray skies,

White, bleak world

Stripped bare, maple,

Birch and elm.

Love’s warmth is there,

Somewhere ‘midst sparkles of silver.

Crystals of ice

Glittering wondrously,

Your heart riding

Dappled rays from Sol.

Cold the wind, quiet the snow;

A world filled with stillness.

You move my heart,

Filling it with warmth and music.

Sun glints from prisms of ice

Bending white to color.

My heart flutters in awe

Of the rainbow offered by yours.

Your love finds its way

Through the cold, stark white

Of winter’s blanket,

Capturing me with your essence.

In glittery wonderment

Your love offers brightness,

Warmth and hope, moving aside

Hopelessness of winter’s numbing grasp.

With you by my side,

Winter’s but a wonderland

Of bright sunny skies

Sending warming shards deep into my soul.

Cold is winter, bare the trees,

Gray is the sky, but your warmth

Fills my day with warm summer hopes

Soul to soul, heart to heart
